Clemson basketball is moving fast on the 2027 recruiting trail, and the staff just put its name in on another big one. Four-star combo guard Peyton Jones, one of the more electric playmakers in the class, announced Thursday that he’d picked up an offer from the Tigers. Jones was quick to shout out assistant Nick Marner and head coach Brad Brownell, a sign Clemson is already on his radar.
At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Jones is a high-scoring guard out of Dynamic Prep in Dallas, and evaluators are already taking notice. 247Sports gives him a 91 rating and slots him as the No. 52 player in the country, the No. 8 combo guard, and the No. 5 prospect in Texas. The 247Sports Composite has him a touch lower — No. 76 nationally, No. 13 among combo guards, and No. 4 in the state. Either way you read it, this is a serious target, and pulling him in would be a real statement for the program.
The Tigers won’t have him to themselves. Cincinnati, Houston, Oklahoma State and SMU are all listed as warm on 247Sports, and Jones has a visit set with Cincinnati on June 21. It’s a crowded field, but Clemson is officially in the mix, and you can count on the staff to keep pushing to separate itself.
